Let’s preface this description with a fun fact: this is not a typical retro fish.
We play homage to a traditional fish, but have put our contemporary spin on it with thinner, more pinched rails and a slightly more elongated outline. This will help you feel a bit more hold in your turns without skipping out, or allow you to actually go for turns in the first place. In keeping with the fish tradition, though, this board is skatey and maneuverable and will allow you to plow through flat sections in small, crumbly surf. During one of the worst swell years we’ve ever had, we rode one of these almost exclusively and managed to have a good time (although we forgot how to ride a shortboard…). Pick one up to get yourself through the off-season swell doldrums.
