What do you get when you add up the paddle power and speed of a big Thick Lizzy, the walkability of a wide-nosed longboard and the super ball-bearing feel of a v.Bowls? BigPin – thats what!
An answer to my desire to make a longboard that feels like a midlength, but is a stable walking and gliding platform. Those days that just dont sport QUITE enough juice for a midlength and I’m not ready to retire myself to a big ‘ol log. Being so flat and wide across the deck, the paddle speed is incredible but thats not at the expense of making the board unresponsive on-rail like most gliders. A really healthy spiral vee in the back half of the board keeps this shape extremely loose and smooth off the back half while maintaining speed and walkability up and down the board.
Down-rails all the way around for trim speed on flat sections and less-powerful waves, coupled with the triplane of the Lizzy for efficiency onto rail – the BigPin is a mashup of a ton of my favorite details, all focused around effortless speed and fun on days that I normally wouldn’t be too fired up to surf; that being said, they do not disappoint when the waves turn up and start spinning! Hang on tight.
