Welcome to The Board Source, where we make buying, selling, and trading surfboards a breeze! If you’re looking at selling your surfboard, say goodbye to the hassle and stress of online marketplaces. We’ve got you covered with our easy and straightforward process.
SELLING YOUR SURFBOARD?
With over 600 used and new surfboards in our inventory and new arrivals every day, you can trust us to find a new home for your board. We buy boards on the spot, no consignment involved, and we’ll pay you in cash or check. All you’ll need is your surfboard, and your photo ID.
WONDERING ABOUT YOUR SURFBOARD’S VALUE?
Visit our website www.theboardsource.com to check out our recently sold boards. We keep our recent listings up to give you an idea of what similar boards sold for. It’s a great starting point to estimate what we’d pay for your board. We provide payouts of up to 65% of our estimated retail price for boards in top condition. Our payout scale adjusts based on the board's condition, meaning lower quality boards receive a correspondingly lower percentage payout.
While we love phone inquiries, it’s tough to give an accurate quote without seeing the board in person. Our team can provide a guesstimate at best, but for a firm figure, bring your board in for a visual inspection and in-person valuation. If you’d like to know whether we’d be a yay or a nay on your board – text us a couple of photo’s before you head in (top, bottom and dimensions) and our team can let you know if it’s a board we’d take in.
TRADE-IN AND UPGRADE!
If you’re eyeing a fresh new board, we’ll gladly evaluate and price up your trade-in. You can use the value towards your new board—simple as that! Our payout rate for trades is the same as for outright purchases - up to 65% of our estimated retail value.
WHAT WE DO/DON’T BUY:
Now, let’s talk about what we don’t buy. Boards that have been broken, snapped, creased (even if repaired), or have extensive damage from the sun or lots of patina, large open dings, fin box issues, outdated 90’s shortboards with glass-on fins, and out-of-date models and designs are not what we’re looking for. We also have a “no paint policy” and don’t accept boards with aftermarket paint or designs.
On the flip side, we’re all about boards in great to excellent condition with normal wear, recognized and popular brands, and desirable models. Our experienced team prices your board based on shop needs, brand/model desirability, overall condition (considering wear, tear, and previous repairs), and any necessary repairs to bring the board to showroom standard.
LETS TALK ABOUT PRICING:
Let’s dive into how we determine the price of your beloved board. Our experienced team, who deal with surfboards day in and day out, is responsible for pricing. They possess a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the surfboard market and are committed to fair pricing practices.
When evaluating a board, we consider a few essential factors. First off, we take into account our shop and stock needs to ensure a balanced inventory. Next, brand and model desirability play a significant role in determining the value. The overall condition of the board is carefully assessed, including wear, tear, previous repairs, and any dings that may need attention. Rest assured, our in-house team works diligently to bring all boards up to showroom standard before they hit the shelves.
Our pricing process is rooted in expertise, fairness, and a deep passion for surfboards. We strive to offer accurate and reasonable prices that reflect the unique qualities of each board. Our goal is to ensure that both sellers and buyers walk away with a smile, knowing they received a fair deal.
PREPPING YOUR BOARD FOR VALUATION:
Wondering if your board needs to undergo a deep cleaning and repairs before you bring it to us? Well, worry not! While a clean board is appreciated, there’s no need to spend hours de-waxing or scrubbing away. Our team is skilled at seeing beyond a dirty wax job and focusing on what lies beneath.
Once your board is in our hands, it goes through a thorough process. We take care of cleaning, fixing any repairs, conducting quality control checks, and even add it to our website before it graces our showroom floor. Minor dings and repairs are not a problem at all and will be factored into the valuation of your board. Our talented in-house repair team works tirelessly to ensure that all boards are in tip-top shape, ready to impress any discerning surfer who sets foot in our store. So, feel free to bring your board as it is, knowing that our dedicated team will handle all the necessary cleaning and repairs. We’re here to make the process easy and enjoyable for you.
NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY:
